Asclepias incarnata ~ Swamp Milkweed

Perennial Swamp Milkweed is also referred to as Silkweed. This delightful, pink-flowered milkweed can be used as a cut flower. It is an excellent addition to wildflower borders or natural habitats. This milkweed attracts butterflies who use it as both a nectar and host plant. Swamp Milkweed grows and blooms in full sun to part shade and prefers damp soil, in full sun and dry soil the plant can "feint" at midday but stands erect again as evening begins. Increase by division or seed.
