Annual "Intense Purple" Amaranth grows to six feet in full sun and amended soil. It attracts some butterflies. This very showy amaranth has deep purple-red leaves and flower heads like exploding fireworks. It is a visual knockout. All amaranths reseed heavily. Thin seedlings to stand two feet apart. Increase by seed, many fascinating cultivars are available in catalogues.
