Hooker's Barberry is an attractive, evergreen mounding shrub--to five feet--that blooms with clusters of lovely lemon-yellow, sweetly scented blooms in early Spring. It is underused in landscapes as is susceptible to rust, but with treatment (as needed) it makes a fine ornamental shrub. Hooker's Barberry prefers full sun to part shade, amended soil and mulch will benefit the plant. Water in drought. Increase by rooting softwood cuttings or fresh seed, expect erratic and staggered germination.
