Plan on keeping at least a fourth for yourself. As a matter of fact--set them aside away from the stash of seeds you intend to trade away. This 25% does more than give you an adequate amount to grow on, it also includes a cushion that in case seeds get lost in the mail, or you accidently send the seeds to the wrong trader, or you want to give some as gifts, etc.;  you will have replacements at hand. With the cushion you are safe from hassles. Don't ever cut yourself short--a wide cushion eliminates any possible future problems.
